A high level committee of the DoT has upheld the concept of ‘Net Neutrality’. At the same time, the Committee has also recommended that local calls made through applications like WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, etc should be charged. However, messaging and international calls made through these applications will remain free, according to the recommendations.
