Bharat Sanchar Nigam's chairman and managing director RK Upadhyay is likely to get an extension of just two months, till June 30 to oversee the conclusion of the loss-making public sector telecom operator's revival plans. The decision marks an end to the recent face-off between communications minister Kapil Sibal and the department of telecom (DoT) over handling of leadership succession at the national telecom carrier.
