BSNL to sync mobile & fixed line connections

In a recent move to attract more customers, the state-run telecom operator has announced that it would be offering free calling benefits to BSNL mobile subscribers that are usually provided to their landline phones.

This move by BSNL is part of the operator's strategies to roll out a convergence platform and sync both mobile and fixed line connections.

The telecom operator has announced that the convergence platform is expected to be rolled out before Diwali.

Adding further on to the announcement, with this platform being set to roll out soon, we can expect mobile phone subscribers being able to make free night calls from their mobile phones. However, to avail this service, the customers should also have a fixed line connection.

Along with this, BSNL has also put it out that the customers will be able to receive their landline calls directly on their registered mobile phones.

It looks like the state run operator is doing all it can to improve the position and freeze the number of losing customers in the landline space. The company is also trying to modernise the landline services with an investment of over Rs 400 crore.
